New Kansas Grazing Management Video Series Provides Practical Resources for Producers
The Kansas Grazing Lands Coalition (KGLC), in partnership with the National Grazing Lands Coalition (NatGLC), is proud to launch a new educational video series designed to provide Kansas producers with practical grazing management strategies that support healthier soils, productive pastures, and improved cattle performance.
Grazing management plays a critical role in the long-term success of livestock operations across Kansas. From maintaining forage quality and managing soil fertility to reducing feed costs and optimizing animal performance, producers face a variety of decisions that directly impact the productivity and profitability of their operations.
To help address these challenges, KGLC and NatGLC collaborated to develop a series of educational videos featuring research-based recommendations and real-world management insights from industry experts and Kansas State University specialists.

Explore Practical Grazing Strategies for Kansas Producers
The series covers several key topics important to grazing operations, including:
- Mineral needs for cattle on fescue pastures
- Grazing for optimum forage quality on tall fescue and bermudagrass
- Matching livestock needs to forage availability
- Understanding the benefits and challenges of tall fescue and bermudagrass systems
- Grazing and forage management strategies to reduce feeding days
- Soil sampling and pH management for long-term pasture productivity
Featured experts include David Kraft, Co-Director of the Kansas Grazing Lands Coalition; K.C. Olson, Professor of Range Beef Cattle Nutrition and Management and W.M. and F.A. Lewis Distinguished Chair in the Department of Animal Sciences and Industry at Kansas State University; and Jaymelynn Farney, Extension Beef Systems Specialist with Kansas State University.
While the videos were filmed in Kansas and highlight practical examples from working grazing systems, the principles discussed throughout the series are applicable to producers across a wide range of forage and livestock operations.
The goal of this project is simple: provide producers, landowners, grazing managers, extension professionals, and agricultural consultants with accessible educational resources that can help improve grazing decisions and support long-term stewardship of Kansas grazing lands.
Visitors can explore the complete video series, learn from leading grazing experts, and access future educational resources through the Kansas Grazing Lands Coalition's Grazing Management Resource Hub.
As grazing systems continue to evolve and producers seek ways to improve efficiency, profitability, and sustainability, access to practical, research-based information remains more important than ever. This project represents an investment in producer education and the continued success of Kansas grazing operations.
