How NRCS Helped with a Range Unit

Posted Monday June 6, 2022

In this Grazing Management Minute episode, Doug Spencer explains how NRCS helped with a range unit.

This particular range unit is large and had irregularities in its shape. Grazing distribution and water sources were both a problem prior to help from NRCS.

NRCS met the owner on the land to look at resource concerns and to create a comprehensive plan to accomplish several goals: increase plant health and vigor, improve grazing distribution, and address woody encroachment.

Learn about how the addition of a water tank and pump helped the system work and improve grazing distribution.

Kansas Grazing Lands Coalition would like to serve as an educational platform for experts, land managers, and Kansas ranchers to share their knowledge with others.
