Event Dale Strickler Webinar-Moving Towards A Profitable Dryland Agriculture in Kansas

September 17, 2020 — 7:00 PM

Event Cost: Free

Join KGLC & USDA for a free webinar Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. (Central Time), focusing on moisture. Moisture is almost always the most limiting factor, and yet ever since the area was first farmed, we have based our farming systems on moisture demanding grain crops. This webinar will focus on why moving to a grazing based system can convert moisture into dollars far more efficiently than grain cropping, and some plans on how to accomplish just such a feat.

Dale Strickler is a local agronomist, who will be providing this educational seminar!

Register in advance for this webinar:

The topics will include:

  • An examination of what is wrong with our current agriculture system; why aren’t we making money?
  • Historical events that led us to the current state of agriculture on the Plains
  • Moisture use relationships of crops, forage, and fallow
  • Converting sunlight and rainfall into money during times of limited moisture
